We want to give you some insight into what actually a Discovery Session is, what information you receive, how the TaxAssist Discovery Session works and what to do after the event.
How exactly is a TaxAssist Discovery Session designed?
Discovery Sessions are designed to allow prospects and the TaxAssist franchisor to meet one-on-one. Before the pandemic, these meetings used to be face-to-face, giving a chance to the prospect to take a look at the franchisor’s headquarters and to meet people who’ll be supporting them should they join the franchisor’s network.
Since the pandemic started, these days have been conducted virtually. They are similar to our usual Discovery Sessions except that prospects now spend the day with us on Zoom, in either a one-to-one or group setting.
So what happens at the TaxAssist Discovery Session?
Every prospect that wants to join the network have to attend a Discovery Session before we consider their application. It’s a two-way process that gives the prospective franchisee a chance to meet us and see if the prospect is right for the franchise and the franchise right for the prospect.
A TaxAssist Discovery Session is an informative and free-of-charge event with no pressure to sign on the dotted line.
What information do you receive?
Topics for discussion during a Discovery Session can include:
- Our History and what makes us a unique franchise
- What do you receive for your franchise fee
- Details about the TaxAssist Network
- Our award-winning training
- The support we provide to make your business a success
- Meeting the banks and bank funding
- How to market and develop your business successfully
- And anything else you would like to know!
At the end of the Discovery Session, you will get an opportunity to have a one-to-one meeting. Here you get a chance to ask us any other questions you have about the franchise, and if you are ready to find out more about joining us you can discuss the next steps. Our main objective is to provide you all the information you need so you can do continue to research the franchise model on your own time.
We understand that starting your own franchise is a big business decision, not just for you but also for your family. You are welcome to bring a family member, business partner or a guest with you when you talk to us one-to-one.
Once you have had time to digest the information we provide you with, the next step is to work on both your financial business plan and written marketing plan (templates are provided for both). We will guide you through your research and assist you with your planning towards your chosen training course.

The Discovery Sessions are not sales presentations, and by attending you won’t be committing yourself to anything!
There is no fee to attend Discovery Sessions. They generally run from 5:00pm until 8:00pm EST.
